St. Simon Island is a quaint and charming beach town in the Golden Isles of Georgia. Enjoy local shopping and restaurants in The Village, take advantage of the extensive biking trails around the island, and spend time relaxing on the beach. Other nearby hotels:-Ocean Lodge Resort (right next door)-Hotel Simone (right next door - adults only)-Hampton Inn St. Simon Island (7 minute drive)-Best Western Plus St. Simon Island (8 minute drive)-Epworth by the Sea (10 minute drive)-The Cloister at Sea Island (20 minute drive) Tip: don’t accidentally book a place to stay in Brunswick! It’s about a 40 minute drive from the venue. Be sure you book accommodation on St Simons Island.

Where to Stay

Welcome to our Jewish wedding! We are so happy to have you. We want to honor the centuries old traditions of our ancestors, so our wedding may look a little different from weddings you may be used to. Cocktail hour:Please arrive promptly at 3:30. We will each be present at our own separate cocktail hours prior to the ceremony. The groom's side is men only, all are welcome on the bride's side, please come and say hi! There will be food and refreshments available. When the cocktail hour is nearing the end, the groom will sign the ketubah (marriage contract). All of the guests will then proceed to and gather around the bride for a tradition called the Bedeken, where the family will exchange blessings and the groom will place the veil over the bride's face. Everyone will then proceed out to the chuppah, where the couple will get married. Take a moment of reflection and meditation while waiting for the ceremony to begin. After the ceremony:Since the couple does not see each other before the wedding, they will take some time to take pictures. Grab a drink and proceed to the reception space. The first course will be served without the bride and groom, who have the first course privately. Reception:We are excited to celebrate! Please join us for a few songs on the dance floor. The mechitza (divider) will be up to separate men's and women's dancing (don't worry it will be removed later). After a few songs, we will sit down for dinner and speeches. What to Expect -  Please Read!

Some dress code guidance. I'd love to see everyone in their best summery, formal clothes! Men can wear a suit, or join Shai in wearing a tuxedo. The ceremony will be outside, on the grass. You may consider wearing chunky heels and bringing sunglasses. Can't wait to see you all!
